COVID-19 Cyber Prom is a Cyber Success

HH Here! I just wanted to give the people an update about my sister’s cyber prom last month. Cyber Prom was a cyber success!!! The girls had so much fun throughout the day, getting ready, chatting, blasting music, and being silly.

It was not your typical prom experience- that is for SURE. Unfortunately, the weather had been a little dreary all day, but once picture time came around, the rain began to let up a little so that pictures could in fact be taken outside!

Although the curls fell faster than the rain, we were quickly rushed back inside before anyone could get soaked.

Luckily, Colby’s friends were able to get outside where they were and I took some virtual snapshots of the girls all dolled up.

Truthfully, I don’t think anyone really knew what to expect.

These are unprecedented times that call for pivoting and making do with what you have.

After pictures, we decided that all of the girls would eat dinner separately due to the virtual situation. But once the clock struck 8 pm (we pushed back the time to wait for the rain to finally stop) and the dancing had begun!

DJ Do Work welcomed the girls over Houseparty to what turned out to be an incredible evening. The girls danced and danced and danced.

It was one hit song after the other with plenty of fog and strobing lights coming from DJ Do Work’s home set up.

We also had some family members show up on HouseParty to be a part of such a special time even when we couldn’t see each other face to face.

It was a memorable day that I hope brought a little happiness to my sister and her friends during these chaotic times.

I hope that this inspires people to make the best of any situation. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just get scrappy with it and HAVE FUN!
